How to create a digital travel journal

Write while the light is still in your head. A few lines, a photo, a song — that is enough.

A notebook and a camera on a wooden table after a day on the road

A digital journal works when it is close to the day you lived.

Write small

Three sentences are better than a blank page you meant to fill on Sunday.

Pin it to a place

A note without a city floats. A note on a street corner stays.

Keep photographs, voice, songs and stories in your memories — beside the pin, not in a folder named “misc”.

The journal is not for an audience. It is for the person you will be in ten years, looking for a smell.

Come back to it the way you come back to a book: not every day, but always to the same spine.
